  1. 2 bottles of red wine (you don't have to buy expensive wine)
  2. 2 ounces of brandy
  3. 4 cinnamon sticks
  4. ½ teaspoon of nutmeg
  5. ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  6. 2 lemons
  7. 2 oranges
  8. ¼ cup sugar
  1. Cut the lemons and oranges into slices, do not remove the peel.
  2. Place the wine in a large pan and slowly simmer. Do not boil!
  3. Add lemons, oranges, brandy, nutmeg and sugar. Let the mixture simmer for approximately 20 minutes, a low heat is even good.
  4. Add cinnamon sticks and simmer for a few minutes more, about 5.
  5. Serve warm in mugs or glasses with a cinnamon stick.
  1. Serve mulled wine in Jam jars for a rustic effect

Nothing like a good mulled wine to get the guests going before they sit down to their feast. Also it makes the house smell like Christmas…I love that part.
